23-year-old designer Tony Evan is known for giving women a strong, feminine silhouette—a blessing now extended to brides everywhere. While Evan has done custom-made wedding gowns in the past, the debut of his bridal line Evan and Ivory comes from insight gathered from the many brides he’s dressed.
“We’ve received numerous requests for gowns with absolutely no lace or beads, yet are still specifically designed to wow the crowd,” Evan explains of his decision to mark the Evan and Ivory line as one that specializes in minimalist bridalwear. Details such as ruffles and ribbons are scattered throughout the collection, albeit with much more restraint than other designers would allow.
Sample dresses are available for fittings by appointment, but the final pieces are ultimately, and thankfully, still made to measure. Price points go from a very manageable PhP40,000 to a surprisingly reasonable PhP100,000. Standout pieces include one with a ruched bodice that flows out into a goddess-like train that would look magnificent should a gust of wind happen to make an appearance on your wedding day.
