Today’s announcement that H&M’s next exclusive collaboration is with London-based independent designer Erdem is setting both the worlds of fashion and film alight. Along with the revelation that the collab will include the romantic, print-loving designer’s first collection for men ever, it was also disclosed that his vision will be brought to life through a short film penned and directed by none other than Oscar-winning auteur Baz Luhrmann. “For me, fashion is always about more than just clothing, it is a form of expression—a stand-alone art form. I am excited to be collaborating with ERDEM and H&M to reveal the story of this unique collection,” Luhrmann shares.
While no other details about the collection are being released, H&M dropped this very Luhrmann-esque teaser of models sleepwalking through plant-filled hallways and running around a secluded London estate decked in floral pajamas, faux fur coats, and sweeping floor length gowns.
