Would you be able to dress a girl you just met based purely on a few self-described statements? That was the challenge posed by Danish jewelry brand Pandora in their Autumn 2016 campaign, “The Look of You,” to a trio of heavy-hitting stylists: Caroline Issa, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, and Micaela Erlanger.
In the short film, we meet Ella, dressed simply in just jeans and a T-shirt. She shares a brief conversation with the chic women assembled before her and soon after, they take to the racks to dress our girl in their interpretations of her personal style as expressed in the season’s trends—completed, of course, with an enviable selection of Pandora’s latest jewelry. It’s not too difficult to get these women going as the stylists are no newbies: Issa is fashion director of independent fashion biannual Tank, Corbin-Murray is stylist to Emma Watson and Lily James, and Erlanger has dressed Winona Ryder and Lupita Nyong’o. The results are varied, fun, and a bit unexpected… specially when Ella emerges at the very end wearing her own personally styled look, and the stylists get to compare notes as they finally “meet” her for the first time.
The campaign spotlights how jewelry is able to complete a look by providing just the right finishing touch to any outfit. “‘The Look of You’ celebrates the versatility of Pandora’s latest collection alongside the versatility of women and encourages our audience to celebrate individuality from the inside out,” says Stephen Fairchild, the brand’s senior vice president and chief creative officer. Check out the video and pick out your own favorite among Ella’s three looks.
