Parisienne makeup artist and YouTube vlogger Violette has just been announced as Estée Lauder’s Global Beauty Director. A regular contributor to international publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and digital beauty publication violetgrey.com, her partnership with Estee Lauder will see her collaborating with the brand on key product developments and digital content creation.
“As a talented makeup artist and lifestyle influencer with a passion for art and color, Violette brings a unique voice and perspective to beauty,” Stephane de La Faverie, Estée Lauder’s Global Brand President, shares. “We are excited to partner with Violette on innovative new product ideas and engaging digital content that creates a dynamic new beauty conversation with women around the world.”
On the heels of the brands recent announcement to discontinue its millennial-targeted Estée Edit line, the signing of Violette signals a concerted effort to re-engage with consumers via the makeup artist’s refreshingly accessible brand of cool. Through a post on their Instagram account (hashtagged #EsteeBeautyEditor, of course) Violette shares, “I really wanted to connect to women. Social media is going to be my tool. Let me give you some guidance, and also, please share with me what you would love to see in your makeup bag, and I will make this happen.”
Just for Violette’s first day of work (June 20) you can ask her beauty questions live and take a peek at life behind the coveted position (hint: it involves swatching top secret lipstick and eyeshadow shades) by following @esteelauder’s Instagram Stories.
