Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
I was raving to my friends about The Ordinary weeks ago, but now it all seems pointless because Drunk Elephant has trumped it all. What took 4 different products by The Ordinary to achieve, Drunk Elephant does in a single product. Some people are very proud of an extreme multi-step skincare system, but it’s not for me– and for those who value their time AND want results, there’s really nothing I could recommend more than this. It does everything you need it to do– and there’s no better result than that.
Sephora Collection Exfoliating Wipes – Charcoal
I try to avoid wipes, given the environmental ramifications, but I wanted to try Sephora’s own. They come in a variety—coconut for cleansing; pomegranate for reinvigoration; etc—but the exfoliating charcoal version, for me, is the most sulit. (The first time you use it can be a bit painful; after that you’ll learn not to scrub too hard.) It really does the trick to detoxify, exfoliate, and cleanse all in one [hopefully delicate] swipe—therefore perfect for out of town sojourns, or nights when you come home too drunk to do your full regimen but not drunk enough to not care.
SEPHORA COLLECTION is of course available on sephora.ph, along with the rest of the range.
Superfood PH Superballs
I’m not in any way religious, but, like the idiot that I am, I gave up sugar for Lent. Tbh I was just trying to curb my habit of a box of Royce Matcha Bar a day; instead I have resorted to eating everything else in sight. My new favourite snack are energy balls by Superfood PH, which fulfill my cookie craving AND give me a ridiculous burst of energy AND have matcha in them.
SUPERFOOD PH is available to order via social media: facebook.com/superfoodsuperballs.
Ouai Wave Spray
Did I fall for the Jen Atkins marketing? Yes I did. But I’ve tried tons of texture mists and none of them hold volume for limp hair the way this one does. I tie my hair in a ponytail, and give it two spritzes— a couple of hours later, and my hair is surprisingly not so Asian.
OUAI is available at sephora.ph, and in a very convenient travel size.
Brow Lash Ex Washable Mascara
This affordable little find is great for creating a full, graphic lash look. While the formula can get clumpy from time to time, the wand that comes with it does a great job of separating the individual strands. That being said, it’s also great for achieving bold spiked brows. After doing my mascara, I tend to run the wand over my brows in an upward motion for some Liza Soberano realness.
I got my Brow Lash Ex Washable Mascara from Landmark in Trinoma — I’m not quite sure where else you can find it.
Happy Skin x Disney Belle Lipstick/b>
One time, I was ambushed by a friend with a surprise dinner invitation after a full day of work sans makeup. I couldn’t say no but I knew I looked pretty stressed. To top it all off, I had forgotten my cosmetic case at home so I couldn’t freshen up. After rummaging through my bag, though, I found my Happy Skin x Disney Belle Lipstick and decided to put it all over my face. I’m not sure why I thought it would be a good idea but thankfully it worked out. After swiping the stick over my lips, lids, and cheeks (and blending the heck out of it), I ended up with a presentable monochromatic makeup look.
Happy Skin is located in Glorietta 3, Greenbelt 5, Rockwell Powerplant Mall, UP Town Center, and select SM malls.
Scotch Brite Quick Sweeper
This is the ultimate multi-purpose product. I’m pretty sure you didn’t expect to find this here but man, it just does so much. It’s revolutionary, I tell you! You can use it as a broom, a mop, a window wiper — anything. I’ve always wanted a Swiffer but since I don’t think those are available here (I’ve only found refills but not the handle, boo), this Scotch Brite alternative will do.
Most big groceries and warehouse stores carry this product — SnR is a sure bet.
I initially thought that this was just a primer, but it’s actually a multi-purpose balm. It’s good for dry patches on the face, elbows, heels, and knees and I’ve used this alone on days when I don’t wear makeup. The area around my lips and my forehead seem to be perpetually dry, so I’ve been using this as an instant moisturising fix. I hope this isn’t a limited edition product, otherwise, I think I need to stock on these.
If you find yourself shopping by yourself on a weekday, I suggest going to the MAC Cosmetics store at SM Aura.
If you’ve read our latest “Dress Code” feature, you’ll know that we love a monochromatic makeup look. With this new product from Revlon, you can swipe it on your lips and even on your cheeks! Coral is such a friendly and subtle shade, and it’ll keep you looking fresh and radiant throughout the day. Take a break from all the mattes, and check out this super hydrating and moisturising product.
Revlon stands are present in most Watson’s and SM Store branches; this gel color drops next month.
Whether it’s just to cool off after a hot summer day or if you’re concocting your own facial serum, these DIY masks are a godsend. If you just really want to cool down, soak it in ice cold water. If you’re serious about your face mask game, you can use your favorite serums or essential oils. It truly is a versatile product that more people should know about, especially now that Korean skincare is at its peak.
There are several Mumuso branches across the Metro, but they recently opened at Ayala Malls’ The 30th along Meralco Avenue in Pasig.
